Two Public Hearings Set for April 24, 2017 Meeting

 

At the March 27, 2017 Plan Commission meeting, a public hearing was set to amend ordinance 18-211(j) Distance from Property Line. A second public hearing was set for a CUP application for a second access point serving the same street frontage.

Public Hearing to Amend Zoning Code Scheduled for February 27, 2017

 

An amendment to Zoning Code Chapter 18 is scheduled for a public hearing on Monday, February 27, 2017 beginning at 5:30 pm. The proposed amendment will modify the definition of Impervious Surface.

Plan Commission Recommends Approval of Amendment to Zoning Code Chapter 17 and Sets Public Hearing on CUP filed for the Property at 490 N. Lakeshore Drive

 

A Public Hearing was held on amending Zoning Code Chapter 17 to reincorporate lot line adjustment process and was unanimously recommend to the Village Board for approval. A CUP application submitted by James Reuland for the property at 490 N. Lakeshore Drive to install entry pillars was set for public hearing at the next regularly scheduled Plan Commission meeting.

Public Hearing Scheduled on Zoning Code Section 17-4 Lot Line Adjustment

 

Plan Commission members voted at at the July 25, 2016 meeting to schedule a Public Hearing to modify and renumber Zoning Code Section 17-4(f) to Section 17-4(g) regarding lot line adjustments.

Plan Commission Recommends Approval of 2016-2021 Park and Open Space Plan and CUP for Big Foot Country Club

 

The Plan Commission held public hearings for the updated Park and Open Space Plan and for the Big Foot Country Club CUP application; both items were recommended for Village Board approval at the July 11, 2016 meeting. Minutes

Special Village Board Meeting Held to Set Public Hearing for CUP Filed by Big Foot Joint Plan Commission and Village Board Meeting results in Approval of the Phase I and Phase II Site Plan Filed by Munson Marine for 138 Fontana Boulevard

 

The Site Plan for 138 Fontana Boulevard was approved for Phase I and Phase II by both the Plan Commission and Village Board at a Joint meeting held April 25, 2016. The Site Plans were approved with conditions. See the minutes here.

 


Special Village Board Meeting Held to Set Public Hearing for CUP Filed by Big Foot Country Club

 

A special Village Board meeting was held on Saturday, March 12, 2016, where staff was authorized to schedule and post the notice for a public hearing for a Conditional Use Permit application to authorize the septic system proposal at the next monthly meeting of the Plan Commission with the condition the CUP application is filed. Plan Commission Recommends Village Board Approval of all Six Public Hearings Heard on Monday Night

 

At the Plan Commission Meeting held on Monday, February 29, 2016, the Plan Commissioners recommended Village Board approval of the CUPs filed by the Abbey Harbor Condominium Association at 271 Fontana Boulevard and Geoff & Megan Hoffman at 389 N. Lakeshore Drive. Both CUP applications were recommended for approval with conditions. Four Zoning Code changes to Chapter 18 were also recommended for Village Board approval.

Plan Commission recommends Site Plan Approval for 138 Fontana Boulevard

 

At the January 25, 2016 Plan Commission Meeting, Plan Commissioners recommended Village Board approval of the proposed Site Plan with conditions at 138 Fontana Boulevard. Both Zoning Code Changes Recommended to Village Board for Approval

 

Plan Commission members voted unanimously to approve the zoning code changes proposed for Zoning Code Sections 18-253, 18-13 & 18-400.  The amendments will be presented to the Village Board for review and approval on Monday, November 23, 2015. The Plan Commission also reviewed the color exterior proposal for 543 Valley View Drive and set a public hearing for the proposed amendment to Zoning Ordinance Section 18-192 regarding exempt signs.

Two Public Hearing Scheduled for Monday, October 26, 2015

 

At the joint Plan Commission and ETZ Meeting held Monday, September 28, 2015, the commission voted to recommend Village Board approval of the rezone petition and CUP application filed by Fontana Holding Co., Inc. to build ten (10) boat storage buildings in Walworth Township. The Plan Commission scheduled two public hearing's for next month's meeting to amend the zoning ordinance section 18-253 regarding application filing deadline for variance and to amend sections 18-13 and 18-400 regarding property maintenance.

Second Hearing Held September 4, 2012 for Zoning Code Rewrite Project

Following a joint session public hearing Monday, August 6, 2012, the Village of Fontana Board of Trustees and Plan Commission directed staff to make amendments to the drafts of the rewritten Chapters 17 and 18 of the Municipal Code and to the new Zoning Map, and presented them at a second public hearing held September 4, 2012. The Village of Fontana Plan Commission approved motions at its monthly meeting held Monday, June 25, 2012 to recommend Village Board approval of an amendment to the Lake Geneva Yacht Club Planned Development Precise Implementation Plan, and of a Building, Site and Operational plan application to authorize a remodeling and renovation project at 104 and 106 W. The Plan Commission also tabled a Conditional Use Permit application at the applicant's request, and approved the final drafts of the rewritten Chapters 17 and 18 of the Municipal Code and new Zoning Map.

Although the Plan Commission voted to schedule a public hearing for the Chapters 17 and 18 rewrite project and new Zoning Map, the Village Board postponed the public hearing later that night at its rescheduled monthly meeting held following the Plan Commission meeting. The Village Board motion adopted just prior to adjournment directed staff to schedule a special meeting with the attorney representing the Geneva Lake Conservancy.

Plan Commission Favors Walsh CUP Application

The Village of Fontana Plan Commission approved a motion at its monthly meeting held Tuesday, November 1, 2011 to recommend Village Board approval of the Conditional Use Permit application filed by Mark Walsh, 1064 S. Lakeshore Drive.

The Plan Commission also approved a motion to schedule a special joint workshop session with the Board of Trustees on Monday, November 14, 2011 beginning at 6:30 PM to discuss the first draft of the new Resort Business District zoning district to be included in the rewritten Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code. Plan Commission Approves Moratorium

Following a joint public hearing on Monday, January 10, 2011, the Village of Fontana Plan Commission approved a Resolution to adopt a temporary moratorium or stay on the acceptance, review and approval of rezone, land division and subdivision applications and condominium plat applications on Village properties.

The moratorium only impacts applications for proposed rezoning, land division and subdivision of property, and condominium plat proposals. Building permits and occupancy permits can still be issued and property owners will be allowed to build and remodel provided their project meets all the applicable zoning requirements and building codes. The moratorium does not affect normal construction.

The moratorium will be lifted when Chapters 17 and 18 of the Municipal Code have been rewritten and adopted. Minutes
